About LPS files

The .LPS file extension serves multiple distinct purposes, most notably as a LightBurn Project file and as a data or save file for various VPet Simulator games. In the context of LightBurn, an .LPS file stores layout geometry, vector graphics, laser power settings, and toolpaths for laser cutters. Other common uses include storing session data in the Lazarus IDE (usually formatted as XML) or saving virtual pet states and character data for desktop pet simulators.

The primary disadvantage of an .LPS file is its strict software dependence. LightBurn project files bind your vector designs to specific laser configurations, making them impossible to open in standard vector editors like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape without first exporting them. VPet simulator files are completely proprietary and cannot be used outside their specific game engine. Furthermore, users often receive an .LPS file from a laser-cutting shop or game modder and find themselves unable to view its contents without purchasing a software subscription or installing a specific game.

If you are working with laser cutter designs, the best target formats for conversion are SVG, DXF, or AI. However, because .LPS files are highly specialized proprietary formats, standard online converters fail to process them. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. We can inspect the file structure and show any internal text or content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your LPS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted EPS, GCODE, JPG, TXT, PNG, NFF, BR5, OBP, CFM, MLD, CMS and MGD files.
