Most commonly (approx. 90%), a .BR5 file is a proprietary karaoke audio track used by Besta electronic dictionaries and handheld learning devices. These files are highly compressed and encrypted to function specifically on Besta hardware. The problem is that standard media players like VLC Media Player or Windows Media Player cannot decode the proprietary audio stream, rendering the file useless on a PC or smartphone.
