The .LGZ file extension is primarily used as a compressed data container for three distinct applications. Most commonly, it serves as an LG mobile application package or compressed game save file developed by LG Electronics, utilizing zlib compression. Alternatively, it is exported by Custom Group POS systems as a compressed cash register data file encoded with GZIP, or generated by Intex Corporation as a compressed application log file packed with standard ZIP compression.
Because .LGZ files are highly specific to the hardware or software that generated them - such as legacy LG mobile phones or proprietary retail cash registers - they are essentially useless on standard desktop operating systems. You cannot double-click to open them natively on Windows or macOS. Standard online file converters routinely fail to process .LGZ files because they do not recognize the proprietary wrapper and do not know how to parse the internal app binaries or POS transaction strings.
The best workaround is to treat the .LGZ file as a standard compressed archive. To access the internal data, the best target formats are ZIP or GZ for the container, and TXT or CSV for the extracted log and POS receipt data. Note that extracting an LG application package will only yield raw assets, not a playable app.
