QNX Kernel Event Trace Log
The primary use of the .KEV extension (64%) is for binary trace logs generated by the QNX Neutrino RTOS. These files record system events, interrupts, and process states captured by the tracelogger utility. Because they are raw binary data, you cannot simply open them in a standard text editor like Notepad++. To analyze this data, developers typically need to convert the file into a human-readable format like CSV or TXT for use in spreadsheet software, or visualize it using specialized tools like Percepio Tracealyzer or the QNX Momentics IDE.
Worms Game Landscape Map
The secondary format (31%) is a game data file used by Team17 for titles like Worms Armageddon. These files store the custom landscape or terrain maps where matches take place. Users frequently run into problems when trying to view or share these maps outside the game environment, as standard image viewers do not support the format.
