About KCF files
Most users encounter the .KCF file type in one of two distinct, unrelated ecosystems, each presenting unique compatibility hurdles.
First, it serves as a Custom Keyboard Layout file for Samsung devices running the Keys Cafe module (part of the Good Lock suite). These files store intricate personalization data - key sizes, mappings, and RGB lighting effects. The primary limitation here is strict ecosystem lock-in; a .KCF file is effectively useless outside of a Samsung Galaxy device. Users typically want to "convert" these to share layouts with friends or backup settings, but the format is binary and proprietary, making it unreadable in standard text editors like Notepad++ or transferable to other Android launchers.
Second, .KCF is the standard Channel List format for Cristor Atlas and KYNG satellite receivers (such as the Atlas HD-200). Enthusiasts download these files to update channel frequencies without manual scanning. The friction arises when trying to edit these lists; you cannot open them in Microsoft Excel or a text editor. You are forced to use the Windows-only KYNG KACE (KYNG Atlas Channel Editor) to view, sort, or modify the channels. Users frequently seek to convert these channel lists to PDF for printing or M3U for IPTV use, a process that requires specialized intermediate software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your KCF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert KCF file to PCI, MCF, INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML or ENV, you can use Samsung Keys Cafe or similar software from the "Configuration Settings" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The KCF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our KCF converter.
