About KCF files
The .KCF file extension is highly fragmented and associated with multiple proprietary hardware and software systems. Its most prominent uses are as an Atlas Satellite Receiver Channel List (used by Cristor/KYNG Atlas HD receivers like the HD-200 to backup and transfer TV channel databases) and as a Custom Keyboard Layout for Samsung Keys Cafe (a module within Samsung's Good Lock personalization suite). Historically, it has also been used for Key Home Gourmet cookbook databases by Arion Software and Sony Ericsson HID keypad settings. The main disadvantage of .KCF files is their strictly proprietary nature. They are closed-ecosystem files designed solely for their respective devices or applications. A Keys Cafe file cannot be opened on a non-Samsung device, and an Atlas channel list requires a specific satellite box or the KYNG Channel Editor to modify. Users often want to convert these lists into human-readable formats like TXT, CSV, or XML to print, edit, or share channel lineups. Because .KCF is a closed, proprietary format, it is extremely difficult to open or convert without the original software.
