About ITC files

The .itc file extension is most frequently associated with the iTunes Album Artwork Cache. These files are generated by Apple's iTunes software to store metadata and pixel data for album covers in your music library. While they technically contain image data (often JPEG or PNG streams), they are wrapped in a proprietary container with a specific header that prevents standard image viewers from opening them. This "lock-in" is a major frustration for users who simply want to recover or view their album art outside of the iTunes ecosystem. To make these images usable for web display, printing, or archiving, you must convert the .itc wrapper to standard JPG or PNG formats.

A secondary but significant use of the extension is for Isothermal Titration Calorimetry data generated by Malvern Panalytical MicroCal instruments. These are complex scientific data files used to measure biomolecular interactions. Researchers often face compatibility hurdles when sharing this raw data with colleagues who lack the specific analysis software. Converting these files to CSV, XLSX, or PDF reports ensures the data is accessible for broader analysis in Microsoft Excel or other statistical tools.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ITC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted ITC2, LTC, IFC, HEIC, ZIP, ICS, AAC, ITL, IPSW and UTC files.

The ITC Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ITC converter.
