Extract text from InterBase databases (IB)
To convert IB databases to another format, you need Embarcadero InterBase or other Database software.
To convert other file formats to the "Relational Database / Buffer" file type, you need software like Embarcadero InterBase or a similar tool.
The .IB file is a multi-purpose extension with highly fragmented use cases. Its most common modern implementations are as a 3D model index buffer in games developed by HoYoverse (such as Genshin Impact) and as a relational database file for Embarcadero InterBase. Historically, it was also used by legacy mobile software like the Sony Ericsson PC Suite for phonebook backups or Nokia PC Suite for SMS message databases.
InterBase databases are managed directly by Embarcadero InterBase. Game model .IB files often require specialized extraction tools or plugins like the Character Creator IB Converter to bridge them into standard 3D workflows. Mobile backups might be readable by SMS Backup & Restore.
Users typically need to convert .IB files to extract 3D meshes to standard formats like FBX or OBJ, or to migrate database records into SQL or CSV.
