About G1A files
The .G1A extension primarily identifies a Casio Add-in Application, a compiled binary executable designed specifically for Casio graphing calculators like the fx-9860G and fx-CG50 (Prizm) series. These files allow users to expand the functionality of their device with additional programs, geometry tools, or games.
A common problem for users is that .G1A files are hardware-specific binaries (often compiled for SH-3 or SH-4 processors). You cannot simply double-click to "open" them on a standard Windows or Mac desktop. Attempting to do so usually results in a binary mess or an error. To use them, you must transfer the file to the calculator using the Casio FA-124 software or via direct USB connection if the device supports Mass Storage mode.
However, the extension is also used in two other distinct, high-friction scenarios that often require conversion:
1. Koei Tecmo Games: In titles like Dynasty Warriors, .G1A files contain proprietary 3D animation or texture data. Modders and game developers often need to convert these to FBX, OBJ, or standard image formats (PNG, TGA) to edit assets in tools like Blender or 3ds Max.
2. Mitsubishi Electric HMI: For industrial automation, the GOT series HMIs use this format for alarm histories. Engineers often need to convert these binary logs into CSV or XLSX (Microsoft Excel) to perform data analysis and auditing.
Convert.Guru analyzes your G1A file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted G1M, CAT, G2M, CSV, TXT, JSON, DOCX, ZIP, SLC and GX files.
The G1A Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our G1A converter.
