Convert FZZ to another file type
To convert your FZZ file to another format, you need Fritzing or other Cad software.
Convert a file to FZZ
To convert other file formats to the "Electronic Design Automation" file type, you need software like Fritzing or a similar tool.
About FZZ files
An .FZZ file is a "Shareable Project" archive created by Fritzing, a popular open-source hardware tool used to design electronics circuits and PCBs. Technically, the .FZZ format is a ZIP-compressed container that bundles the core FZ project file (XML-based) alongside any custom parts, datasheets, or SVG assets used in the design. This ensures that when the project is shared, all dependencies are included, preventing "missing component" errors on other machines.
While excellent for portability, .FZZ files are proprietary to the Fritzing ecosystem. They cannot be opened by standard image viewers, web browsers, or other EDA tools like KiCad or Eagle without conversion. Users commonly encounter problems when trying to share designs with clients or manufacturers who do not have Fritzing installed. To overcome this lock-in, the best practice is to convert the file based on your end goal: use PDF or PNG for documentation and web sharing, SVG for scalable vector graphics editing in tools like Inkscape, or Gerber files for professional PCB manufacturing.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FZZ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert FZZ file to PDF, FZPZ, DWG, DXF, DGN, RVT, RFA, SKP, 3DM, STEP, IGES or SAT, you can use Fritzing or similar software from the "Electronics Project Bundle" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SLDASM, DGN, PRT, IAM, X_B, CATPRODUCT, SLDPRT, RVT, ASM, DWG, CATPART or DXF files to FZZ, try Fritzing or another comparable tool in the "Electronics Project Bundle" category.
The FZZ Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FZZ converter.
