About FXT files

The .FXT extension represents two distinct but widely used data formats: MetaTrader 4 Strategy Tester files and Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Mod Text files.

1. MetaTrader 4 Strategy Tester File

In algorithmic trading, .FXT files contain the modeled tick data used to backtest trading robots (Expert Advisors).

2. GTA CLEO "Fake Text" File

Used extensively in the Grand Theft Auto modding community (specifically GTA: San Andreas), these files work with the CLEO Library.

Legacy Use: Rarely, this extension may refer to old Microsoft Fax document headers, which are now obsolete and best converted to PDF for archiving.

Convert.Guru analyzes your FXT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted LIGHTKEYFXT, SSL2, RAF, TXT, CS, CSV, CSI, XML, ZIP, SDOCX, FXL and FXA files.

The FXT Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FXT converter.
