About EC files

The .EC file extension is a chameleon in the developer world, most frequently encountered as a Code Coverage Execution Data file generated by EMMA or JaCoCo during Android builds. These are binary dumps that record which lines of code were executed during a test suite. The problem? They are unreadable to humans and completely useless on their own; you cannot simply double-click to view the results in a text editor. To make sense of the data, you must "convert" (generate a report from) the .EC file into a readable HTML report, XML summary, or CSV file using tools like Android Studio or build automation systems like Gradle. Users also frequently encounter .EC files as compiled modules for the Easy Programming Language (a Chinese software development environment) or as encrypted archives created by Easy-Pack. These proprietary formats often suffer from version lock-in, requiring the original software environment to run or extract.

Convert.Guru analyzes your EC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted EPUB, PDF, ENC, EXEC, ATP, TED, PPM, GC, TDS and TT files.

The EC Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EC converter.
