About DRX files

The .DRX file extension is predominantly a DaVinci Resolve Color Grade file created by Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve. These files store detailed color correction settings - including node graphs, LUT references, and grading parameters - in an XML format, and are almost always saved alongside a reference still image (.DPX or .JPG). Alternatively, .DRX files are also used as dashcam video recordings generated by DRIDE dashcams, which use standard MP4 video containers, or as AutoCAD runtime extensions formatted as executable binaries.

The main disadvantage of the .DRX format is its fragmented, proprietary nature. As a color grade, it is exclusively locked to DaVinci Resolve's Gallery and cannot be natively imported by competing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro. Users frequently encounter frustrating limits when trying to share these grades with other editors. Similarly, dashcam users struggle with .DRX videos because standard media players and web browsers reject the unrecognized file extension.

To share color settings universally, you must export a CUBE (3D LUT) file directly from Resolve, as third-party tools cannot parse the proprietary node data in a .DRX file. For dashcam files, converting the file to a standard MP4, MOV, or AVI is the best solution.

Standard online converters fail to process .DRX files because they rely solely on the file extension, treating XML grades, MP4 videos, and AutoCAD plugins identically.

Convert.Guru analyzes your DRX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted DPX, DRX 2, DXR, LUT, RDX, JPG, ZIP, RAW, XML, DRP, PDF, CUBE and WEBP files.
