About DPF files
The .DPF file extension represents a highly fragmented proprietary format used by completely unrelated software applications. Its primary use cases include storing PCB CAM drill data for Ucamco UcamX, managing EDMS document packages for Archimed, and saving financial forecast business plans in French accounting software such as EBP Prévisionnel Financier and Ciel compta. Other niche applications use it for vehicle diagnostic parameters, molecular docking data in AutoDock, and vector cutting designs in Silhouette Studio. The main disadvantage of the .DPF format is its extreme fragmentation and closed nature. Users frequently encounter these files as email attachments or system exports but cannot open them because standard operating systems do not recognize the format. Furthermore, financial .DPF files utilize internal zlib compression, making the underlying text completely unreadable in basic editors. Because the format is locked to the original software, standard online converters fail to process it. Converting these files typically requires the exact native program. For example, Silhouette Studio is necessary to export a cutting .DPF file to a standard DXF or SVG format, while EBP software is required to generate a PDF or XLSX financial report.
