The .DPF file extension is highly fragmented and associated with several completely different proprietary formats. Most commonly, it is a PCB CAM Data File used by Ucamco UcamX for printed circuit board manufacturing. It is also heavily used as an EDMS Documents Package by Archimed, or as a financial forecast file in French accounting software like EBP and Ciel, where it relies on underlying zlib compression. Furthermore, it appears in niche, specialized environments like Haldex DIAG+ for vehicle diagnostics, AutoDock for molecular modeling, and Silhouette Studio as a craft portrait file.
Because .DPF files are deeply tied to their parent applications, they present severe conversion challenges. They are closed-source, unreadable by standard text editors, and completely unsupported by web browsers. Users generally need to convert these files to standard formats to restore functionality: PDF for EDMS documents, CSV for EBP financial data, or GBR (Gerber) for UcamX PCB layouts.
