About DPP files
The .DPP extension primarily identifies a proprietary project file created by Serif DrawPlus, a legacy vector graphics editor now discontinued in favor of the modern Affinity Designer. These files contain complex vector paths, layer information, bitmap images, and text formatting intended for professional print and digital design. A significant difficulty for users is that .DPP files are not forward-compatible; even Serif's own successor software cannot natively open or import them. This creates a "digital lock-in" scenario where valuable design assets become inaccessible without a working installation of the obsolete DrawPlus software (versions X8 or earlier). Additionally, .DPP is used by niche applications like Sage 50 for reports and Ifolor for photo books, further confusing identification. To recover or migrate these designs, the optimal workflow is converting the source .DPP to PDF for high-fidelity archiving and printing, or to SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) to regain editability in modern tools like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape. For simple viewing on the web or mobile devices, converting to PNG or WebP eliminates the need for specialized software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DPP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted DDP, PDF, PNG, DOCX, CR2, PPTX, JPG, FP3, QRP, SMALI, PT and CIA files.
The DPP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DPP converter.
