To convert other file formats to the "Encrypted Game Archive" file type, you need software like Farming Simulator or a similar tool.
A .DLC file primarily functions as an encrypted game expansion or a secure download link container. In the gaming industry, GIANTS Software uses the .DLC format to package add-on vehicles, maps, and assets for the Farming Simulator series. In file-sharing contexts, a .DLC file serves as an encrypted container utilized by download managers like JDownloader to hide source URLs from automated crawlers. A smaller subset of .DLC files function as digital tachograph data logs for transit hardware from Stoneridge Electronics, or as lighting control files for DIALux.
The primary disadvantage of the .DLC format is its closed, encrypted nature. Farming Simulator .DLC archives are locked to the proprietary game engine and often exceed several gigabytes. They require a paid copy of the game to access and cannot be natively extracted by standard archive tools like WinRAR or 7-Zip. Similarly, Download Link Containers are intentionally encrypted to prevent users from reading the raw URLs, rendering them useless without specialized client software.
Because these formats rely heavily on proprietary encryption, standard online converters fail to process them. You cannot easily convert a Farming Simulator .DLC to a ZIP file, nor can you export tachograph data to a standard CSV without the original software.
