Extract text from project and budget files (DDP)

To convert other file formats to the "Home Design Project File" file type, you need software like DreamPlan Home Design or a similar tool.
A .DDP file is typically a proprietary DreamPlan Home Design Project file created by NCH Software, or a PRESCOM Construction Budget file. DreamPlan uses these files to store 3D building models, textures, and 2D floor plans. PRESCOM uses them to manage complex building estimates. Additionally, Embarcadero Delphi utilizes the extension for diagram portfolios.
The main disadvantage of .DDP files is their severely restricted compatibility. You cannot open a DreamPlan file in a web browser or import it directly into professional CAD tools like AutoCAD or SketchUp. Similarly, PRESCOM files are unusable without the original estimating software, locking your financial data behind a proprietary wall.
To share these files with clients or colleagues, DreamPlan users typically need to export their 2D layouts and 3D renders to standard PDF documents or JPG images. Interestingly, PRESCOM files are actually standard ZIP archives in disguise. Renaming the file extension to ZIP allows you to extract the raw data inside.
Because these are closed formats, they are incredibly difficult to process without the native application. Standard online converters lack the algorithms to parse proprietary 3D geometry or specialized budget data.
