About CMR files

The .CMR extension is highly fragmented and used by several completely unrelated software platforms. Most commonly, it functions as a zlib-compressed game object or asset in titles developed with Clickteam Fusion. Alternatively, it is used as a ZIP-compressed railway profile measurement report by Nextsense CALIPRI, an XML-based panel cutting optimization project in CutMaster 2D, or a legacy Mac screen recording file for TechSmith Camtasia.

The primary disadvantage of a .CMR file is its extreme fragmentation. Because developers recycled the same extension for different tools, your operating system will constantly struggle to assign the correct default application, often throwing a "Windows cannot open this file" error. Furthermore, most of these formats are proprietary. A Camtasia .CMR file traps your video in a legacy container that is not supported by web browsers or video players. CALIPRI and CMA Coach measurement files lock your data behind expensive, niche industrial software.

To make your data usable, you must convert it based on its actual internal structure. For legacy screen recordings, convert to MP4 for web use and universal playback. For CutMaster projects, extract the raw XML or convert to TXT for easy editing. For compressed game assets or measurement reports, unpacking the internal ZIP or zlib archive allows you to archive the raw components securely.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CMR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted CMR7, ZCMR, CR2, CBR, CDR, PNG, PDF, JPG, ICS and ZIP files.
