Convert CIR to another file type

To convert CIR netlists to another format, you need LTspice or other Cad software.

Convert a file to CIR

To convert other file formats to the "Circuit Simulation File" file type, you need software like LTspice or a similar tool.

About CIR files

A .cir file is predominantly a SPICE (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis) netlist or schematic. It contains instructions, parameters, and node connections for simulating the behavior of electronic circuits. These files are essential in Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) and are heavily utilized by electrical engineers and circuit designers.

You can open and edit standard .cir files using popular simulation software such as LTspice, Micro-Cap, AIM-Spice, and Logisim. However, the format suffers from fragmentation. A .cir file exported from Micro-Cap might contain proprietary binary schematic data that fails to load in LTspice. Furthermore, raw netlist files are difficult for non-engineers to read, making collaboration a challenge if the recipient lacks the necessary $5,000 ECAD software or specialized knowledge.

To share circuit data with clients or project managers, you need to convert it. Convert .cir to TXT to guarantee compatibility across all operating systems. For archiving or sharing the visual schematic layout, converting to PDF is the industry standard. If you need to extract component values and parameters for a Bill of Materials (BOM), convert the file to CSV.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CIR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted CIRC, MS14, HTML, PDF, DOC, DOCX, ZIP, EASM, SAV, PY, PLAN, APKG and ASY files.

FAQ

If you want to convert CIR file to LAT, LIB, CC, DWG, DXF, DGN, RVT, RFA, SKP, 3DM, STEP or IGES, you can use LTspice or similar software from the "Circuit Simulation Netlist" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert SLDASM, DGN, PRT, IAM, X_B, CATPRODUCT, SLDPRT, RVT, ASM, DWG, CATPART or DXF files to CIR, try LTspice or another comparable tool in the "Circuit Simulation Netlist" category.

The CIR Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CIR converter.
