About MS14 files
The .ms14 file extension is exclusively used for electronic circuit designs created in NI Multisim 14. It contains schematic capture data, component properties, routing information, and SPICE simulation parameters. Users typically open these files using NI Multisim to run interactive virtual tests on their analog or digital circuits before physical prototyping. The main disadvantage of the .ms14 format is its heavily proprietary nature. It is locked into the National Instruments ecosystem, which requires an expensive paid software license. You cannot open it natively in popular alternative EDA tools like KiCad or Altium Designer without complicated workarounds. The files are also completely incompatible with web browsers and standard document viewers, making collaboration with non-engineers difficult. To share schematics with non-technical stakeholders, it is highly recommended to convert .ms14 to PDF, PNG, or SVG. For manufacturing or cross-platform engineering, exporting the data to generic SPICE netlists or Gerber files is required. Note that converting to basic image formats will permanently lose all active simulation data and component metadata. Because this file format is difficult to open or convert due to its closed ecosystem, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Standard online converters will fail to process it. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
