About ABT files

The .ABT file extension is primarily used for two completely different purposes: FORScan As-Built configuration data files and Baby Tracker data backups. FORScan is a diagnostic software used for Ford, Mazda, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. Its .ABT files store raw hexadecimal vehicle configuration blocks read from the car's modules via an OBD2 adapter. Alternatively, the Amila Baby Tracker app uses .ABT files to back up feeding, sleep, and diaper logs on mobile devices.

Users often struggle with .ABT files because they are tightly locked into their specific software ecosystems. FORScan files are raw machine data. Opening them in a standard text editor is possible, but the hex blocks are meaningless without the software's decoding logic. You cannot simply convert this data to a standard PDF or DOCX document. Similarly, the Baby Tracker .ABT backup restricts your personal data to a closed mobile app ecosystem, making it frustrating to export your own records.

Fortunately, the Baby Tracker backup is actually a disguised ZIP archive. By renaming the extension, you can extract the internal data, which often contains accessible text or database files like CSV or SQLite. For FORScan files, conversion targets are practically nonexistent since only the FORScan software can safely read or write this exact data back to a vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECU).

Because these formats are highly proprietary or domain-specific, standard online converters usually fail to process them.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ABT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted VXL, APT, XLS, AB, XLSX, DAT, INP, TXT, FRP, CSV, SKP, XPI and LIVP files.
