Convert APT to another file type
To convert APT data files to another format, you need aTube Catcher or other Data software.
Convert a file to APT
To convert other file formats to the "Video Wrapper / Game Asset" file type, you need software like aTube Catcher or a similar tool.
About APT files
The .apt file extension is notoriously fragmented and shared by several completely different data structures. In its most common form, it acts as a downloaded video file generated by aTube Catcher. This software uses the .apt extension as a temporary or proprietary wrapper for standard MPEG-4 Part 14 (MP4) video files. Other distinct variants include compiled game data script files for EA Sports NCAA Football, forestry machine data logs formatted to the StanForD standard (used by Timbermatic hardware), X-Plane airport data files (which are actually ZIP archives), and 3D character models for the RenderWare game engine.
Users often face severe limitations when handling .apt files. Because multiple software programs use the exact same extension for wildly different purposes, operating systems fail to assign a universal default application. Furthermore, these files are often locked in temporary states, wrapped as proprietary game assets, or compiled as closed machine logs. This makes them highly inaccessible to standard media players and text editors. Standard online converters completely fail to process .apt files because they rely on the extension name rather than inspecting the internal file headers.
For aTube Catcher videos, the ideal conversion target is MP4. For X-Plane airport data, the files should be handled as ZIP archives to extract the internal contents. However, forestry data and compiled game assets are proprietary and cannot be reliably converted without losing their structural integrity. Because this file format is difficult to open or convert, traditional tools will typically throw errors. We will inspect the file headers, show underlying text or internal content, and if our analysis detects a supported embedded format - like an MP4 video stream or a ZIP container - viewing or conversion may still be perfectly possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your APT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert APT file to APK, RPM, DNF, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG or CONF, you can use aTube Catcher or similar software from the "Video Wrappers & Game Scripts" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to APT, try aTube Catcher or another comparable tool in the "Video Wrappers & Game Scripts" category.
The APT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our APT converter.
