About ZS files

The .zs file format generally serves two very different purposes: high-speed data compression and video game modding. Most commonly, it is a Zstandard Compressed Archive, an algorithm developed by Meta and used for Nintendo Switch game data and PC games. Alternatively, it is a ZenScript file used by the CraftTweaker mod to alter recipes in Minecraft. You can read more about the compression on Wikipedia's Zstandard page. The major disadvantage of the .ZS compressed format is poor native system support. Neither Windows nor macOS can open Zstandard archives out of the box. Users are forced to download command-line utilities or install third-party plugins. If you are dealing with a ZenScript file, the strict syntax means a single missing bracket can crash your game. To avoid software installation headaches, you should convert these files. For game archives, convert .ZS to universally supported ZIP or TAR files so you can extract the contents natively. If you need to edit or share a Minecraft mod script, convert it to TXT or JSON for easy reading on any device.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ZS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted BFRES, MC, TXT, SRM, 7Z, BRS, HSP and AEF files.
