Convert a file to WGS
To convert other file formats to the "Proprietary Scientific Data" file type, you need software like Krüss DSA Software or a similar tool.
About WGS files
A .WGS file serves as a proprietary data container, most commonly functioning as a Drop Shape Analysis data file generated by the Krüss Drop Shape Analyzer software. Alternatively, it is used as a CAD drawing workgroup file created by the WildTools plugin for PowerCADD, or occasionally as a Walk-Graph Segment file by ChannelAdvisor. Opening these files natively requires highly specialized software such as Krüss DSA for laboratory data, or the macOS-exclusive PowerCADD suite for drafting. The primary disadvantage of the .WGS format is its extreme vendor lock-in. Scientific datasets become trapped behind costly lab software licenses, making it nearly impossible to share raw droplet contact angle measurements with peers who lack the proprietary program. Likewise, PowerCADD workgroup files isolate drafting teams to macOS, heavily restricting collaboration with Windows-based engineers. To ensure universal access, these files must be converted. For data analysis in Microsoft Excel, convert the tabular scientific data to CSV or XLSX. For archiving laboratory reports, convert to PDF/A. For CAD drafting workflows, target DXF or DWG to restore cross-platform compatibility. Drag and drop your file to analyze and convert it - free, online, and without installing software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your WGS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert WGS file to UTM, PRS, ITM, DMS, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI or CFG, you can use Krüss DSA Software or similar software from the "Drop Shape Analysis Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to WGS, try Krüss DSA Software or another comparable tool in the "Drop Shape Analysis Data" category.
The WGS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our WGS converter.
