Convert a file to WBS
To convert other file formats to the "Project Management" file type, you need software like WBS Schedule Pro or a similar tool.
About WBS files
A .WBS file most commonly serves as a project management data file created by Critical Tools WBS Schedule Pro (formerly WBS Chart Pro). These files contain hierarchical charts that visualize task dependencies, resource allocations, and timelines. The real problem with .WBS files is their proprietary nature; they are not standard image or document formats, meaning stakeholders without the licensed software cannot view the charts. To share these schedules effectively, users typically need to convert them to PDF for static review, JPG for presentations, or Microsoft Excel (.XLSX) and Microsoft Project (.MPP/.XML) for data interoperability.
Alternatively, a .WBS file may be a proprietary project file used by WYSIWYG Web Builder. In this context, the file contains the layout, assets, and logic for a website but is not a usable web page itself. You cannot simply upload a .WBS file to a web server. It must be processed or "published" into standard HTML, CSS, and JS files to be viewable in a browser. For archiving or transfer, these projects are often zipped into a ZIP archive.
Convert.Guru analyzes your WBS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert WBS file to PDF, HTML, HTM, CSS, JS, PHP, ASP, ASPX, JSP, JSPX, PY or RB, you can use WBS Schedule Pro or similar software from the "Project Schedule Chart" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert RSS, CSS, CGI, SITEMAP, PL, WEBMANIFEST, JSON, JS, XML, HTML, ICO or HTM files to WBS, try WBS Schedule Pro or another comparable tool in the "Project Schedule Chart" category.
The WBS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our WBS converter.
