About VXP files

The .VXP extension refers to two distinct file formats that present significant compatibility challenges. Most commonly, it is a Mobile Runtime Environment (MRE) Application used by devices running on MediaTek chipsets, such as Nokia feature phones (e.g., Nokia 220) and generic smartwatches. These files are compressed executables (often based on the ELF format or Zlib compression) containing code and resources like images and audio. They are strictly designed for the MRE platform and cannot run directly on Android (APK) or iOS, meaning users often struggle to open them on modern smartphones. To analyze or modify these apps, developers typically extract the contents to common formats like PNG or MP3 using archive tools.

Alternatively, a .VXP file may be a Vertex Project or drawing created by Vertex BD, a specialized Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for wood and cold-formed steel framing. These proprietary CAD files are locked to the Vertex ecosystem, making it difficult to share designs with clients or contractors who do not own the expensive license. The best workflow for sharing Vertex designs is converting the .VXP file to a universal vector format like DXF or DWG for editing in AutoCAD, or publishing to PDF for easy viewing and printing.

Convert.Guru analyzes your VXP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted JAR, JAD, XPS, APK, TXT, KWI, DEB and AIX files.

The VXP Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VXP converter.
