About VPB files

A .VPB file is primarily a Video Project Backup created by video editing software such as Microsoft Photos Legacy, VSDC Free Video Editor, and VideoPad. A smaller percentage of these files are 3D scene data files used by Autodesk VRED for automotive and product visualization. In the case of video projects, a VPB is not a playable video file. It is essentially a hidden ZIP archive that groups together all the raw media assets, timeline edits, and effects data needed to reconstruct a project. Users frequently encounter problems with .VPB files when they mistakenly attempt to share them, play them in standard media players like VLC, or upload them to social media. Because the file only contains project instructions and unrendered clips, standard online video converters will fail to process it.
