About VFP files
The .VFP file extension is notoriously fragmented, used by several completely unrelated software ecosystems. Its most common formats include 3D printer project files for FlashForge FlashPrint, hardware firmware packages (often disguised ZIP archives) for VALD ForceDecks, Salesforce Visualforce web pages, Group Policy exchange files (UTF-16 text) for CyberArk Viewfinity, and legacy databases for Microsoft Visual FoxPro or ViCon ViFlow.
This extreme fragmentation is a massive disadvantage. A .VFP file could be a compressed archive, a proprietary 3D print layout, a raw text document, or a legacy database. Trying to open it without knowing its origin usually results in error messages. For example, a FlashPrint 3D project cannot be opened by standard CAD software, trapping your 3D models in a closed ecosystem. Similarly, Visual FoxPro databases are largely obsolete and difficult to access on modern operating systems without specialized legacy drivers.
If you need to access the data, conversion targets depend entirely on the file's origin. 3D printing projects should ideally be exported as STL or GCODE. Firmware packages can often simply be renamed to ZIP and extracted. Visualforce pages can be opened as HTML or TXT, while FoxPro databases are best converted to CSV or SQL for modern compatibility.
Because these formats are often highly proprietary and share the exact same extension, standard online converters usually fail. They cannot guess which of the possible formats your specific file uses. Just drag and drop your file into convert.guru to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. We inspect the file's internal signature (such as ZIP headers, JetDB markers, or UTF-16 encoding) to show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your VFP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert VFP file to MP4, PYTHON, DB, SQLITE, SQLITE3, MDB, ACCDB, DBF, ODB, FDB, GDB or MYD, you can use FlashPrint or similar software from the "Multi-format Proprietary Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert NDF, SQLITE3, BAK, RDB, SQL, DB4, MDF, MDB, LDF, DB, DB3 or SQLITE files to VFP, try FlashPrint or another comparable tool in the "Multi-format Proprietary Storage" category.
The VFP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VFP converter.
