About UCD files

The .UCD file extension typically represents a Furniture Design Project created in Corpus CAD, or a UML Use Case Diagram generated by the AmaterasUML plugin. It is also used as a programming project file by Makeblock uCode or a compiled unit code file in PowerBuilder. The primary disadvantage of the .UCD format is its proprietary, fragmented nature. These files act as closed project containers that require specific, often expensive software environments to open. They are completely unsupported by web browsers and standard operating system tools, making collaboration difficult. Users typically want to convert .UCD files to universal formats like PDF, PNG, or JPG to share 2D layouts and static diagrams with clients. For programming and data backup scenarios, converting or extracting to XML or ZIP is the primary goal.
