About MFI files
The .MFI file extension is notoriously fragmented across completely different software ecosystems. Most commonly, it acts as an AppManager data collection file used by NetIQ AppManager and is structurally a 7-Zip compressed archive. Alternatively, it serves as a proprietary backup disk image created by tools like Macrium Reflect or HDClone, an obsolete MiroVIDEO DC30 movie file based on the RIFF container, or a 3D mesh model index for Leica Geosystems. This multi-purpose nature makes the format extremely frustrating for end-users, as operating systems cannot natively identify which software to use. Furthermore, proprietary disk images and legacy video formats lock your data behind outdated or expensive software. To regain access, conversion or extraction is the only realistic workaround. For compressed data, extract or convert to .ZIP or .7Z. For legacy MiroVIDEO files, converting to .MP4 ensures web and modern media player compatibility. The MFI Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MFI converter.
