About TTK files
The .TTK file is predominantly a Translator's Toolkit package used by localization and translation management professionals. It serves as a container file that bundles translatable source files, translation memories (TMX), glossaries, and project metadata into a single deliverable. These files are typically managed using SDL Trados Studio or Siemens Simatic WinCC. A smaller percentage of .TTK files belong to the Alchemy Catalyst Translation Toolkit, which uses them to store binary localization data for software UIs. Users often need to convert or unpack .TTK files because the format requires expensive, specialized localization software to open natively. Freelance translators or clients who do not possess a costly software license cannot easily view the text within. Furthermore, the format is proprietary and not supported by standard text editors or web browsers. If you only need to review the text, you want to extract the underlying XML, XLIFF, or TXT files. The best conversion targets for a .TTK file are standard ZIP (for unpacking) or XLIFF (for translation in other tools). Extracting the data will give you access to the text, but you will lose specific project workflows, user assignments, and tool-specific settings. Opening or converting .TTK files online is notoriously difficult because they are closed, proprietary bundles. Standard online document converters fail because they do not understand the internal schema or cannot process nested translation memories. However, drag and drop your file to see what it is and convert it if supported. Because the majority of .TTK files are internally structured as ZIP archives, our analysis can often inspect the file, extract the embedded content, and make viewing or conversion possible without the original software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TTK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The TTK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TTK converter.
