About TTK files
A .TTK file is primarily associated with the Translator's Toolkit, a localization package format used by Siemens WinCC OA (Open Architecture) and supported by SDL Trados Studio. These files act as containers for translation projects, storing source strings, target languages, and interface metadata.
For Siemens WinCC OA users, the .TTK is often a disguised ZIP archive containing raw translation data (often in CSV or TXT format). A common limitation is that users cannot open the file directly in standard text editors or Excel without specific localization software.
However, a significant minority of .TTK files (approx. 1%) are proprietary database files created by Alchemy Catalyst. These are binary "Translation Toolkits" used to localize software binaries (like EXE or DLL) without access to source code. Unlike the Siemens variant, Alchemy files cannot simply be unzipped; they require Alchemy Catalyst or Catalyst Lite to export data to open standards like TMX (Translation Memory eXchange) or XLIFF for use in other CAT tools.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TTK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The TTK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TTK converter.
