Convert TM to another file type

To convert TM project files to another format, you need Google Teachable Machine or other Data software.

Convert a file to TM

To convert other file formats to the "Machine Learning Model / 3D Scene" file type, you need software like Google Teachable Machine or a similar tool.

About TM files

The .TM file extension is heavily fragmented, serving primarily as a container for Google Teachable Machine learning models or Epic Games Twinmotion 3D architectural visualization scenes. It is also used by GNU TeXmacs for scientific text documents. Depending on the origin, the file contains either a bundled machine learning algorithm, a complex 3D scene database, or formatted mathematical text.

To natively open these files, you need the software that created them. Use the web-based Google Teachable Machine for AI models, Twinmotion for high-fidelity 3D rendering, or GNU TeXmacs for scientific editing.

Users frequently need to convert .TM files because they are highly proprietary and essentially useless outside their native ecosystems. For example, a Twinmotion scene is a closed, resource-heavy SQL database that requires a massive software installation and a powerful GPU just to open. Sharing a raw .TM file with a client or collaborator who lacks the software is impossible. Similarly, Teachable Machine files are strictly bundled for specific deployments and lack universal viewer support.

For conversion targets, Teachable Machine models can often be unpacked into standard JSON and BIN format weights. Twinmotion projects should ideally be exported to FBX, OBJ, or .UDATASMITH to salvage the 3D geometry, though proprietary lighting and material setups will be lost. TeXmacs files are best converted to PDF or standard TEX for universal distribution.

Because the .TM extension is shared by so many completely different architectures - ranging from ZIP archives to SQL databases to raw text - it is notoriously difficult for generic online converters to process. Most tools simply fail because they rely on the file extension rather than the internal data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted TM7, TS, PLN, GPG, MO, TGZ and GM files.

FAQ

If you want to convert TM file to GM, TXT, RTF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, PAGES, TEX, LATEX, MD, MARKDOWN or LOG, you can use Google Teachable Machine or similar software from the "Machine Learning & 3D Visualization" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert PDF, DOC, ASC, TODO, NFO, MEMO, README, DOCX, JPG, TXT, NOTE or RTF files to TM, try Google Teachable Machine or another comparable tool in the "Machine Learning & 3D Visualization" category.

The TM Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TM converter.
