About STK files
The .STK file extension represents a highly fragmented group of proprietary file formats. Its most common uses include Comic Book Archives for Korean comic viewers, Microscopy Image Stack files for Molecular Devices MetaMorph, and Stickfigure Animation project files for Pivot Animator or Stick Nodes. These files are typically locked into their specific ecosystems. For example, a microscopy .STK file is essentially a multi-page TIFF container that holds biological imaging data, while an animation .STK file contains proprietary vector node coordinates. You need to convert these files because sharing them requires the recipient to have highly specialized, often expensive, or outdated software installed. For instance, MetaMorph is costly enterprise software, and old comic viewers lack modern web browser support. Standard online converters almost always fail to process .STK files because they cannot guess which of the dozens of internal structures the file uses. The best conversion targets depend entirely on the file type: extract comic archives to .JPG or .PNG, convert microscopy stacks to standard .TIFF or .PDF, and export stickfigure animations to .GIF or .MP4. Even if direct conversion is impossible without the original software, our tool can often extract embedded images or plain text data.
Convert.Guru analyzes your STK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The STK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our STK converter.
