Convert a file to RWF
To convert other file formats to the "Raw Waveform & CAD Schedule" file type, you need software like Smaart or a similar tool.
About RWF files
The .RWF extension typically refers to two distinct, professional-grade file types that share a common problem: they are locked into proprietary ecosystems that widely available software cannot open.
First, in the audio engineering world, an .RWF file is a Raw Waveform File generated by Smaart. These are not standard audio files like MP3 or WAV that you can play in VLC or iTunes. Instead, they contain raw impulse response measurements used for acoustical analysis and system tuning. The friction here is immediate: clients and collaborators cannot hear or analyze these measurements without owning a license for Smaart. To make this data usable for reporting or convolution reverb processing, you must convert these files to WAV (for audio) or CSV (for data analysis).
Second, in the construction and architecture sector, .RWF files are Reinforcement Schedules created by Allplan (a Nemetschek brand). These files act as database exports containing detailed lists of steel reinforcement bars (rebar) required for a structure. A site manager or quantity surveyor cannot view this data without the original CAD software, which creates a bottleneck for estimation and procurement. The practical solution is converting these schedules into XLSX (Excel) for calculations or .PDF/A for immutable archiving and printing.
Convert.Guru analyzes your RWF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert RWF file to KSH or KES, you can use Smaart or similar software from the "Acoustical Measurement & CAD Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert files to RWF, try Smaart or another comparable tool in the "Acoustical Measurement & CAD Data" category.
The RWF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RWF converter.
