About RVP files
If you are dealing with an .RVP file, you are likely facing one of two distinct technical hurdles. The most common scenario for laboratory professionals is the Rapid Visco Analyser data file generated by instruments from Perten Instruments. These files contain critical rheological data (viscosity, temperature, speed) used in food quality testing. The friction here is significant: the data is often trapped within the proprietary TCW3 (Thermocline for Windows) software. Users frequently need to perform statistical analysis in Microsoft Excel or share results with clients who do not possess the $5,000+ instrument software, making the raw .RVP format cumbersome and limiting.
The second major variation is a patch bundle for the ReVanced Project. These files are essentially archives used to modify Android applications (like YouTube) to remove ads or add features. While these are fundamentally container formats (similar to ZIP), they are not natively recognized by standard OS file managers as archives, preventing users from inspecting the payload or patches.json manifest without technical workarounds.
Recommendation:
- For Analysis (Perten RVA): Convert the data immediately to CSV or XLSX. This strips away the proprietary formatting and allows for universal charting and pivot tables.
- For Reporting: Convert RVA graphs to PDF to ensure the visual viscosity curve is preserved for email attachments.
- For Inspection (ReVanced): Convert or rename the file to ZIP to extract and view the internal patch logic and resources using tools like WinRAR.
Convert.Guru analyzes your RVP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted PTB, MEM, SBW and TVP files.
The RVP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RVP converter.
