About RVP files
The .RVP file extension is most commonly used as an Android application patch file developed by the ReVanced Project. These files contain configuration data, scripts, and bytecode required to modify the behavior of compiled Android applications. A secondary, but prominent use for .RVP files is as a raw data export from the Perten Rapid Visco Analyser (RVA), storing plain text UTF-8 viscosity measurements used in food science and industrial testing. Rarely, they are utilized as firmware update files for Sharp Blu-ray hardware. The primary disadvantage of the .RVP format is its highly specialized nature. ReVanced patches require the specific ReVanced Manager or CLI to execute and cannot be natively unpacked by the Android OS. For the viscosity data, the proprietary extension often confuses standard spreadsheet software, meaning users struggle to chart or analyze the data without purchasing the proprietary RVA-TecMaster suite. If you are dealing with a ReVanced patch, the file is structurally a standard ZIP archive. Renaming the file extension to ZIP is the best conversion target, allowing you to extract its internal JSON configurations and Dalvik executables. For the RVA data files, standard conversion to CSV or TXT is highly recommended so the data can be imported directly into Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets without data loss. Because .RVP serves completely different, highly-niche purposes, standard online converters often fail to process it. They do not know whether to treat it as an archive, text, or a hardware firmware blob. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data.
