About TVP files
The .TVP file extension primarily represents either a traffic count data file used by TrafficViewer Pro, a desktop profile saved by NVIDIA nView Desktop Manager, or a sports video presentation playlist for Catapult Thunder software. These files are highly specialized and proprietary. Traffic data .TVP files store raw vehicle count and speed metrics gathered from hardware sensors. The main disadvantage is that this format is completely inaccessible without the proprietary software, meaning stakeholders cannot view the data without purchasing a license. Standard web browsers and spreadsheet tools like Microsoft Excel cannot read them natively. Users typically need to convert .TVP to CSV, XLSX, or PDF to share reports. Similarly, NVIDIA nView profiles are system-specific settings files that cannot be converted to other formats, while Catapult Thunder playlists simply point to external video files via Apple QuickTime architecture rather than containing video data themselves.
