Convert RSH to another file type
To convert RSH Shader files to another format, you need Java ME or other Data software.
Convert a file to RSH
To convert other file formats to the "J2ME Record Store File" file type, you need software like Java ME or a similar tool.
About RSH files
The .RSH file extension most commonly represents a J2ME Record Store file, generated by the Java ME Platform. These files function as localized, proprietary databases for legacy Java mobile applications (MIDlets), primarily storing game save states, user settings, and application caches. It is also frequently encountered as a compiled Game Engine Shader file developed by Relic Entertainment for applying 3D textures in PC games. Additionally, the extension is used as a 3D scan project file in Hexagon 3DReshaper and as a remote shell resource file by Logitech Harmony and Harmony Assistant.
The main disadvantage of the .RSH format is its extreme fragmentation. Because the exact same extension is shared by wildly different applications - from obsolete flip-phone emulators to modern 3D point-cloud scanning software - the files are virtually unreadable by standard operating systems. J2ME save files are specifically bound and serialized to the application that created them, meaning they require the original environment to parse. Relic shader files are compiled binaries tied strictly to specific game engines, and 3DReshaper files are closed-source CAD containers.
Users typically want to convert .RSH 3DReshaper projects to standard 3D formats like OBJ, STL, or PLY to collaborate across different CAD software. For J2ME files, users often attempt to convert them to readable TXT or XML to modify game saves. Unfortunately, standard online converters universally fail to process .RSH files because they lack the specific, proprietary decoders required for these disparate formats.
This format is notoriously difficult to open or convert. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. Our advanced hex analysis inspects the file's binary signature to tell you exactly which type of .RSH you have. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format (like a Microsoft Compound container), viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your RSH file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert RSH file to JS, TS, PY, JAVA, CPP, C, CS, PHP, RB, GO, RS or SWIFT, you can use Java ME or similar software from the "Java ME Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SH, PY, KT, PS1, SWIFT, LUA, PL, JAVA, SCALA, JS, VBS or TS files to RSH, try Java ME or another comparable tool in the "Java ME Data Storage" category.
The RSH Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RSH converter.
