About OTX files

The .OTX file extension primarily represents an OpenIV Texture Definition used for modding games like Grand Theft Auto V, or an OpenTX Model Data backup for RC transmitters. Specific software like OpenIV is needed for game modding, while the OpenTX Companion is used for managing transmitter profiles. Users often struggle with these files because they are highly specific and lack native OS support. OpenIV .OTX files are usually proprietary text or XML files that point to external image data like DDS, meaning they do not hold the visual image themselves. This makes them useless outside the modding ecosystem. OpenTX files are compressed archives that standard image viewers and document editors cannot read. For OpenTX files, the best target format is ZIP to access the raw configuration data. OpenIV files require packing into game archives (RPF) rather than converting to standard image formats. Because .OTX is either a closed modding script or a proprietary backup package, standard online converters fail to process it. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying format like an embedded ZIP archive, viewing or extraction may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your OTX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted DDS, YDD, JPG, IMX, BASE and DD files.
