About ROFL files

A .ROFL file is a proprietary game replay format generated by League of Legends, the MOBA developed by Riot Games. Unlike standard video files (like MP4 or MOV), a .ROFL file contains lightweight instructional data - coordinate streams, player inputs, and game events - that the game engine uses to reconstruct the match in real-time.

Because these files are data-driven rather than pixel-based, they present significant challenges: they cannot be opened in media players like VLC, and they break immediately if the game client updates to a new patch, rendering old replays inaccessible. To "convert" a .ROFL file for YouTube or social media, users must open the file within the League of Legends client and use screen-recording software like OBS Studio to capture the playback as a standard video file.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ROFL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted WEBM, SIG, FLP, MID, MP4, VMT, WAV, 7Z, TXT, G3D, MCDX, AAE and XML files.
