About RMP files

The .RMP file extension is most commonly a RapidMiner Process file. It stores data science workflows, predictive models, and data preparation steps created in Altair RapidMiner. These files usually contain structured data in XML format or act as ZIP archives bundling multiple analytical assets.

Less frequently, .RMP files serve as game control mapping files for older games like Re-Volt or Rocksmith 2014. They can also be prepared reports from ReportMachine, cycling performance data from RacerMateOne, RealPlayer Metadata packages, or Magellan Raster Maps.

The main disadvantage of .RMP workflow files is their heavy dependence on a proprietary ecosystem. You cannot easily share an .RMP file with a colleague who uses Python, R, or other open-source data science tools. Opening the file typically requires an expensive, heavy software installation. Standard online converters fail to process them because they cannot automatically translate graphical node networks into functioning code scripts.

If you need to extract the underlying logic, the best approach is to convert the .RMP file to XML or TXT. This allows you to read the raw parameters and node connections in a standard text editor. For the ReportMachine versions, converting to PDF is the ideal target to share the document.

Because .RMP formats are highly specialized, they are difficult to fully convert. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. We can identify the exact file type, inspect the internal structure, and show the underlying text. If our analysis detects a supported XML or ZIP structure, viewing or extracting the contents will be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your RMP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted RPM, MMAP, RPMSG, TSX, LSS, PM3 and DNL files.

The RMP Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our RMP converter.
