About RED files

A .red file is most commonly associated with Orgadata LogiKal, a specialized software suite used for calculating and manufacturing windows, doors, and curtain walls. These files function as proprietary construction reports containing technical data, material lists, and structural specifications. A major limitation for users is that these files are strictly tied to the LogiKal ecosystem; without a valid license, the data is inaccessible, making it difficult to share construction details with clients or contractors who do not possess the software.

Alternatively, a .red file may be a Redcode assembly source file used in the programming game Core War, or a source script written in the Red programming language. In these cases, the file contains plain text instructions but often fails to open automatically because the operating system lacks a default association.
