About PFD files
The .PFD extension is a highly fragmented format used by several completely unrelated software and hardware systems. It is most commonly associated with proprietary 3D CAD data from PTC Pro/ENGINEER, personal finance databases for Alzex Personal Finance, hardware configuration profiles for gaming mice (like Logitech or Razer), and industrial equipment data logs (such as electrofusion welders or pile driving rigs). Occasionally, a .PFD file is simply a user typo for a standard PDF document.
To open these files, users must rely on the specific application that created them. For financial data, this means installing Alzex Personal Finance. For hardware profiles, users need utilities like Logitech G HUB or Razer Synapse.
Because these are proprietary application formats or raw machine logs, they are fundamentally not standardized. You cannot open a gaming mouse profile in a CAD program, and personal finance databases require the correct software version to decrypt and read the ledger. Sharing these files is extremely difficult because the recipient must own the exact same software or hardware. They are useless on mobile devices and cannot be natively viewed in web browsers.
Standard conversion is often impossible due to the proprietary binary nature of the files. If the file is a personal finance database, users should export it to CSV or XLSX from within the original app. If it is an industrial log, exporting to TXT or CSV via the manufacturer's software is the only way to extract readable data.
This file format is notoriously difficult to open or convert because it acts as a closed container for specialized app data. Standard online converters fail to process it because there is no universal structure for a .PFD. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PFD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert PFD file to SVG, AI, EPS, PDF, JPG, CDR, WMF, EMF, SWF, FLA, XFL or SKETCH, you can use PTC Pro/ENGINEER or similar software from the "Proprietary Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert AFPUB, EPS, FIG, VSD, SKETCH, VDX, AFPHOTO, PDF, AFDESIGN, SVG, VSDX or AI files to PFD, try PTC Pro/ENGINEER or another comparable tool in the "Proprietary Data Storage" category.
The PFD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PFD converter.
