About PAD files

The .PAD extension is a heavily overloaded format, most frequently associated with musical 'Multi Pad' data used by Yamaha and Korg arranger workstations. These files store rhythmic patterns, loops, or one-shot sound effects triggered by the keyboard's pad buttons. While essential for live performance, they are proprietary and difficult to use outside the hardware. Musicians often struggle to edit these on a PC or share them with bandmates who don't own the specific keyboard model.
