The .nce file primarily functions as a CNC cutting program file used by Weihong CNC control systems. It contains specific machine instructions, tool paths, spindle speeds, and feed rates for automated milling and routing machines. Alternatively, it can function as a data acquisition configuration file for National Instruments DAQmx or a CAD reinforcement steel schedule created in Nemetschek Allplan.
These files are highly proprietary and present significant challenges. A .nce CNC file is strictly formatted for Weihong controllers and cannot be directly run on generic GRBL, Fanuc, or Mach3 machines. DAQmx configuration files require specialized, heavy software to interpret. Because they are closed systems, cross-compatibility is extremely limited, trapping your machine data or hardware configurations inside vendor-specific software environments.
Users frequently need to convert .nce CNC files to standard G-code (.NC, GCODE, or TXT) to operate different machine controllers, or they need to extract DAQmx data into XML or CSV for external spreadsheet analysis.
