Convert NCE to another file type
To convert your NCE file to another format, you need NcStudio or other Cad software.
Convert a file to NCE
To convert other file formats to the "CNC Program File" file type, you need software like NcStudio or a similar tool.
About NCE files
The .NCE file extension primarily represents a proprietary CNC program file generated by Weihong Naiky control systems (specifically NcStudio). Unlike standard NC or GCODE files which are often plain text, Weihong .NCE files may contain binary headers or specific formatting that renders them unreadable in standard text editors or incompatible with generic G-code senders (like Universal Gcode Sender). This can create major obstacles for machinists trying to migrate toolpaths to non-Weihong controllers (e.g., GRBL, Mach3) or visualize cutting paths in simulation software. Users typically need to convert these into standard NC, TAP, or TXT formats to regain interoperability.
A secondary but critical use case (approx. 5%) is the NI Configuration Export file used by National Instruments NI-DAQmx driver software. These are strictly binary snapshots of system settings (channels, scales, tasks). Engineers often attempt to open these in Excel or Notepad to view calibration data, only to find scrambled gibberish. Because these files are locked to the NI MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer) environment, the only practical "conversion" is to load them back into NI MAX and re-export the data as a human-readable INI or TXT report.
Convert.Guru analyzes your NCE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert NCE file to TMP, TEMP, CACHE, LOG, BAK, OLD, NEW, PART, DOWNLOAD, CRDOWNLOAD, LOCK or PID, you can use NcStudio or similar software from the "CNC Machining Instructions" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DEVICE, CACHE, SOCK, SYMLINK, PID, MOUNT, FIFO, LOG, PIPE, TMP, JUNCTION or TEMP files to NCE, try NcStudio or another comparable tool in the "CNC Machining Instructions" category.
The NCE Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our NCE converter.
