About MXL files

The .MXL extension serves two distinct, high-volume purposes.

1. 1C Spreadsheet (Moxel):
Representing 51% of global usage, this is a proprietary spreadsheet report generated by 1C:Enterprise, a widely used ERP platform in Eastern Europe. These files function similarly to Excel sheets but are locked into the 1C ecosystem.

2. Compressed MusicXML:
Representing 39% of usage, this is the industry-standard Compressed MusicXML format. It is a ZIP-compressed container used to share digital sheet music between notation programs like Finale, MuseScore, and Sibelius.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MXL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted MUSICXML, XML, PDF, MP3, MID, MUSX, SIG, MLX, MSCZ, CDW, MXML, ZIP and MXF files.

Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MXL converter.
