Convert MS12 to another file type
To convert MS12 circuit designs to another format, you need NI Multisim or other Cad software.
Convert a file to MS12
To convert other file formats to the "EDA Schematic File" file type, you need software like NI Multisim or a similar tool.
About MS12 files
The .ms12 file is a proprietary circuit design and simulation format created by NI Multisim (version 12). Engineers and students use these files to capture electronic schematics, define component parameters, and run SPICE simulations.
Users often face major challenges when sharing .ms12 files. Because the format is highly proprietary, it requires an expensive software license just to open or view the schematic. The files are completely unsupported by web browsers and standard document viewers.
To share designs with clients or non-engineers, the best solution is to convert the schematic to a standard PDF document or a high-resolution PNG image. This ensures the layout remains intact without needing specialized software. If you are moving to a different Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool, you must export a netlist or standard layout format directly from Multisim.
Standard online converters almost always fail to process .ms12 files. This is a closed, proprietary format with a complex internal structure tied directly to the NI simulation engine. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MS12 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert MS12 file to DWG, DXF, DGN, RVT, RFA, SKP, 3DM, STEP, IGES, SAT, X_T or X_B, you can use NI Multisim or similar software from the "Circuit Design and Simulation" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SLDASM, DGN, PRT, IAM, X_B, CATPRODUCT, SLDPRT, RVT, ASM, DWG, CATPART or DXF files to MS12, try NI Multisim or another comparable tool in the "Circuit Design and Simulation" category.
The MS12 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MS12 converter.
