About MOHO files
A .MOHO file is a proprietary project file created by Moho (formerly known as Anime Studio), a specialized 2D vector animation software now developed by Lost Marble. Unlike a standard video file (like MP4 or MOV), a Moho file does not contain actual video frames. Instead, it acts as a container - often a ZIP-compressed archive containing a JSON file - that stores mathematical instructions for vector shapes, bone rigging systems, keyframes, and references to external assets like audio or background images.
Because the file contains instructions rather than rendered pixels, .MOHO files are typically very small but cannot be opened by media players like VLC or uploaded to video hosting sites like YouTube. This creates a common limitation: users receive a .moho file expecting to watch a cartoon, only to find it unreadable without the specific paid software (Moho Pro or Moho Debut). To view the animation, the project must be opened in the Moho software and "Rendered" (exported) to a standard format. If you do not have the software, you cannot view the motion, though you may be able to rename the extension to ZIP to extract embedded static assets.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MOHO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert MOHO file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Moho Pro or similar software from the "2D Animation Project" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to MOHO, try Moho Pro or another comparable tool in the "2D Animation Project" category.
The MOHO Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MOHO converter.
