An .MBW file is a proprietary data format most frequently used as a server database backup by the HP MediaSmart Server. It can also function as a world save file for the 2D sandbox game Mine Blocks by Zanzlanz, or as a project archive for Microsoft Whiteboard.
Because the .MBW extension is highly fragmented across entirely unrelated applications, identifying its true origin is frustrating for users. HP MediaSmart backups are often encrypted and permanently tied to obsolete server hardware. Game saves are completely useless outside the specific Mine Blocks engine.
