About LVF files
The .LVF extension is shared primarily between two distinct, proprietary formats that often cause compatibility headaches for users. The most common variation (approx. 54%) is a video stream file generated by legacy Logitech security systems, specifically the Logitech Alert Commander software. These files contain surveillance footage encoded in a proprietary format optimized for the specific hardware dvr systems, which means standard media players like Windows Media Player or VLC cannot play them natively. Users are effectively locked out of their own security footage unless they still have access to the obsolete Alert Commander software or perform a conversion. To view these recordings on modern devices, the best path is converting the stream to standard MP4 or AVI containers.
The second major variation (approx. 38%) serves as a 'Logo Report View' file used by Logo Yazılım, a major provider of ERP software like Logo Netsis. These files store business report layouts and data. Similar to the video format, these are highly specific to the Logo ERP ecosystem. Sending an .LVF report to a colleague without the software results in an unopenable file. For business continuity and sharing, these reports should be exported or converted to PDF for archiving or XLSX (Excel) for data manipulation.
Less frequently, an .LVF file might be a DRM-protected eBook from the Japanese BookLive store. In this scenario, the file is encrypted to prevent unauthorized distribution, making conversion impossible without breaking terms of service.

The LVF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LVF converter.
