A .lva file stores 3D avatar data for Logitech webcam software. It contains models, textures, and facial tracking parameters that map a user's movements to an animated character during video calls. These files were heavily used in the mid-2000s to create interactive virtual personas.
Historically, this format is opened exclusively with legacy versions of Logitech Webcam Software. The main disadvantage of the .lva format is its completely proprietary and undocumented nature. It is heavily tied to discontinued hardware and software. It requires legacy Logitech drivers running on older operating systems (like Windows XP or Windows 7) to function. Standard media players and modern 3D editors like Blender cannot import or read it.
Users often want to convert these files to modern 3D formats like OBJ or FBX, or render them as MP4 videos. Unfortunately, standard conversion is nearly impossible because the file does not contain standard 3D mesh headers.
