About LPF files
An .LPF file primarily serves multiple unrelated purposes depending on the software that created it. Most commonly, it is a proprietary label design file created by Brady LabelMark or Brady Workstation. It contains text, barcodes, and layout dimensions for industrial label printing. Alternatively, .LPF acts as the Lightweight Packaging Format used by Readium for publishing audiobooks. It can also function as a mail tray label file for Australia Post, or project settings for Saleae Logic Analyzer and Lattice Semiconductor FPGA boards.
The main disadvantage of .LPF files is their high fragmentation. Because the extension is shared across radically different industries, standard operating systems cannot determine the correct application to open them. Brady label files are proprietary, encoded in UTF-16, and require specialized paid software to read. They cannot be viewed in web browsers or easily shared with non-technical staff. Users typically need to convert them to PDF or JPG to share label proofs, or extract raw data to CSV or TXT.
Converting .LPF files is notoriously difficult. Standard online converters usually fail because they do not understand the underlying proprietary schemas. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the exact formatting and printer instructions. If our analysis detects an underlying ZIP structure (common with Readium audiobooks) or standard XML text (common with Brady templates), viewing or conversion may still be possible without buying the original software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LPF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The LPF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LPF converter.
